We love what we do and it’s always a pleasure to get positive feedback on our work, which is why we’re over the moon that our Chatsworth Table is the cover star of this year’s World of Interiors magazine’s annual supplement.
It’s a great honour to be chosen for this prestigious special edition. Not only has The World of Interiors been one of the most influential and authoritative design and decoration titles for almost 40 years, but their supplement is sent out to all the top design shows around the world for a whole year, which means we get to share our gorgeous table with the very best in the business.
We made our first appearance on the cover of the World of Interiors supplement at the 2019 London Design Festival where, on Friday the 20th September, we also hosted a special event to celebrate this prominent marking point in the industry calendar with a trend report by guest speak and PR Manager of the Design Centre, Becky Metcalfe. In the coming months, the supplement will be on display at the top international design shows, so look out for us at:
The Decorative Arts Fair
International Contemporary Furniture Fair, New York
Milan Furniture Fair
World of Interiors is the go-to bible for those with a passion for design, providing a wealth of unrivalled inspiration. It’s always relevant and never predictable; indeed, it doesn’t so much fit the market as define it, so we’re delighted to be so central in this year’s edition. “We take it as a great compliment that we’re on the right track and we’re growing our business,” says our chairman and co-founder, Richard Davidson.
And, we couldn’t be happier that one of our favourite pieces, the Chatsworth dining table, was selected for the cover image. A perfect combination of contemporary and traditional, the Chatsworth features an exquisite circular tabletop sitting on a striking hexagonal base. Its veneer has been beautifully crafted in a radial pattern that forms a point where all the hand-cut segments seamlessly meet in the centre, though it can also be ordered with a cross-grain design if preferred.
“We love the geometrics of the Chatsworth table,” says Richard. “It has the clean straight edges on the base contrasted by the elegant curves running up and around the circular top. It has really interesting angles.”
For the World of Interiors cover, the Chatsworth, which forms part of our Evoke collection, was pictured in high-gloss, dark-tinted sycamore black. This is one of our most popular finishes as it brings out the grain of the wood to stunning effect. A smart, brushed brass trim sits flush to the face of the frieze, with a 5mm shadow gap that gives the table a contemporary edge. The brushed brass is more subtle than the highly-polished brass, offering a sense of understated luxury. However, as with all our furniture, the Chatsworth can be fully customised in your choice of timber, veneer and metal, including nickel, antiqued brass and bronze.
It comes in a range of sizes, from 1.2 metre in diameter – ideal as a small central table for a reception room or smart entrance hall – to a two-metre-diameter dining table that seats 10-12 people. Whatever size you choose, this elegant table is guaranteed to provide the perfect centrepiece to any room.
What’s more, this annual supplement is not our only World of Interiors accolade at the moment! Check out the October issue of the magazine, the biggest and most important issue of the year, which features our sensational Boulevard armchair. It’s part of our West Coast Collection, a collaboration with luxury designer Anna Standish, that we unveiled earlier in the year. Like the rest of the collection, which was inspired by Anna’s passion for American interior designs of the 1970s, the Boulevard has a fabulous retro feel with its California cool coral upholstery and its curvaceous yet unobtrusive tub-like form.
“The West Coast Collection has this wonderfully fresh, vibrant, dynamic quality that manages to feel both young at heart and, yet, entirely in keeping with our other pieces,” says DAVIDSON managing director Alexandra Davidson.
